HP Envy 4520 Scanner not scanning "failing to open a connection to device"

Hi everyone, 

 

I have updated my computer, restarted it, restarted the printer / scanner, reset all my printing systems (restarted my computer) and added the 4520 back in my system preferences.

 

When I try to scan from HP Easy Scan I get "Scanner reported an error: Failed to open a connection to the device"


When I try to scan from the printer, my computer name comes up but I get "Scan Unsuccessful" error 

"Connection has been lost" 

"scan application is currently in use" 

or "an OCR application is not currently installed" 

 

When I try to scan from my Mac's Printers & Scanners, it says it cannot connect "failed to open connection to device (-21345)"

 

The printer works fine as does the copier.

 

Please help!

I have problems with the print head

I have problems with the print head, when I was printing, I did not unlock the ink tank, so the ink did not reach the print head and now I get an error in the black head.
What can be done in this case.

I'm trying to connect my printer to the wifi and the light is constantly flashing and it won't connect. The message always says printer not responding. If someone can please advise as to how I can connect it. Thanks so much.

Hi,

My printer does not work at all and it happened all of a sudden. No print nor scan nor copy. It does not show any errors, it takes the paper, works on  it and sends it out but the paper is completely blank after coming out. Something like that the cartridge is empty but I don't think so as it has worked properly, plus this fact that it is not pale or something, it is completely blank.

My HP 6660 Officerjet e-All-in-One  keeps recycling saying it needs turning off and on and the screen displays the message "There is a problem wit the printer or ink system. Turn off, then on. If problems persists contact HP. ox61011bed

 

No matter how many times i turn off on on same message, it will not let me access the ink to check them as it cycles through the above, I have turned off and removed power cable for 10 minutes and started it again yet same cycle

My HP 3831 will NOT print in colour from my windows 10 laptop

My Officejet 3831 has stopped printing in colour on my Dell XPS 13, Win 10 x64. I have done as many of the diagnostics and troubleshooting as I can find on these forums but cannot find a solution that works for me. 

 

  • I can print from my phone in colour so there is not an issue with the hardware
  • The test pages and troubleshooting on the device itself shows nothing
  • HP Print and Doctor Scan also shows nothing on diagnostics
  • I have tried a complete uninstall of the driver through programs and features, through printers and scanners and I have completely removed the driver using Win+R printui.exe /s. I have then restarted the computer and installed the driver from the HP website. This did not work. 
  • A lot of people seem to think this is a simple settings issue but in fact when I go to device settings under printer properties there isn't even an option for this, even after reinstall of the driver. (See screenshot)

To get HP phone support for this issue I'm told its going to cost me £17.99 because its out of warranty, but I can get a new printer now for £34.99! Not very green I know but I'm running out of patience. Please can someone help me!

I keep getting a warning saying the print head appears to be missing, not detected, incorrect instaled.

We have putin a new one and get the same message.

also we can not doe anything on the display I can not go to home or settings.

Cartridge Error + Sanner Busy error in Deskjet printer

Dear Community,

 

I'm facing Black cartridge error and scanner busy problem. This happened all of a sudden after proper usage, I couldn't resolve the problem. I had searched for relative solutions and followed it but no use. ex: resetting the printer by unplugging in "ON state" and pressing power button 1-3 mins.

 

I have changed the entire cartridge set (colour + black) but this is no use too.

[ Error Facing: Black Cartridge Indication blinking and Scanner busy. ]

 

Please let me know any solutions, Thank you.

HP Envy 5020 double sided multiple copies

When I print multiple copies of a landscape document (or two portrait pages to a page) double sided, the first, third, fifth etc. copies print perfectly (double sided, landscape, flipped on long edge), whereas the second, fourth, sixth etc. copies print in portrait double sided so some of the content is missing off the right hand side of the page.

 

Any ideas?

Envy 4523 will not print in colour

I cannot get my printer to print in colour from my work laptop or my home PC. It works perfectly fine from my ipad so I don't understand the issue.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and drivers multiple times but it is not even giving me an option to select colour when trying to print anything. I have also tried following a previous community post about setting up a new TCib port which has not done anything either. I have managed to use e-print on my laptop to get colour printing but it is not convenient and it is now getting in the way of me trying to work from home. Extremely annoying

Printer Status Report

I have printed the status report however #44.Approx pages remaining only shows Magenta has 300 pages and Cyan and Yellow says Low, yet they appear to be at the same level as the magenta.  Does it mean all are low but each colour still has another 300 pages of printing available?  I'm wondering whether to buy new inks or change to a laser print as I've been told they print photos better - what do you think?  What's the pro and cons between laser and inkjet?  Many thanks Ishka

My Photo Smart 7510 Black ink only has stop working all other colors are OK. Changed ink then cleaned Print Head and still does not work Ant suggestions?

Black and white does not give error but prints are extremely bad, colour prints are ok

Hi all,

 

I am using my mobile phone and HP print Services Plugin to print. The ink levels are all showing good but the black ink is smudging, smearing and not printing well at all. I have tried all the troubleshooting steps in the book e.g. clean smears, align cartridges, 3 levels of cleaning cartridges and even physically cleaning cartridges but the result is same. In fact, cleaning smears make it worse. Colours, however, are better but they are faint and unnatural since the black isn't working well. I do not get any error messages. I suspect that the black ink needs a replacement. 

 

Let me know if you need any more information but during this lockdown I would like this issue resolved asap please.

Looking for printer

I have a new HP Envy Photo. 

It can see the scanner from my mac and it has sent the printer status report from the mac to the printer but I cannot print a simple word document from word or pages.

 

I am not very techie can anyone please help?

Why does the print quality completely disappear if you don't print for a month or two?

After I bought my printer, I used it for maybe 10 times without any problem with the cartridges that came with the printer. Then I didn't print for approximately 2 months and the quality was suddenly very bad. I used the cleaning functions but it didn't help. I therefore bought 2 new genuine cartridges and the printer worked again. After that I have printed maybe 5 more times and had a break for 1 1/2 months without printing. Now I suddenly have the same problem even though both HP cartridges are full. I have done cartridge alignment, cleaning of cartridges at all 3 levels, reinstalled cartridges after restarting the printer, reinstalled the software but all without any results.

 

When I had the same problem with my previous HP printer, I just scrapped it and bought this one.

 

Unless this can be fixed, I will have to throw this one away as well and for certain I will never buy another HP product in the future.

HP Office Jet Pro 6970 not printing black - original cartridge

Dear community,

 

some days ago I replaced the cartridges with non-official ones, and my HP 6970 complained with an error. After some googling I've realized the firmware 2006B doesn't allow non-official cartridges on printers manufactured after December 1, 2016. So, despite the fact that I don't really like such approach from HP, I've bought original HP cartridges and mounted them.

 

Problem is, even if I don't receive error messages anymore with the original HP cartridges mounted, the printer doesn't print black. The other colors are ok, and I never had any problem with printing quality with this device. Simply, black color is not present anymore. I've tried cleaning and all maintenance procedures but nothing. It's not that black is light or faded or misplaced: despite the printer says ink is full and no issues, black is simply not on paper. That's why I'm thinking about some firmware flag, but of course it's just a speculation.

 

My printer is out of warranty, but fully operational. It would be a shame to replace it and I'm asking for assistance.
