Hi - I have an HP laptop G62 on Windows 7 x 64 bit. Being a laptop i use this in different locations, and different printers
Note I am not a tekkie - just a layman user, so bear with me if more detail than needed
Let me start by saying if I use at home it prints anything word pdf excel pictures etc onto a usb wired Epson F2280 all in one
I have at my work location a Epsom F2200 laserjet connected via the ethernet socket to a wireless hub and few other desktops, this is black only so my USB port has a HP Deskjet 1050 J410, and this is where my problems begin - getting more so in the Library which is to follow
At work dealing with an excel file the printer options shows all possible printers including my home and library, but of the two possible choices of the laserjet or the 1050 deskjet - its only this 1050 that it will print an excel file to.
With a pdf it does not show the yet to be detailed library printers at all , and only shows my home deskjet and the office wired 1050 - so my only choice is to use this 1050 I cannot print to the laserjet
Now - I do a lot of work for the Library - and here we have an HP Officejet 8600, and a brand new Konica Minolta bizhub c224 top of range printer copier. The Konica works brilliantly from powerpoint word emails jpegs etc - probs are again excel and pdf, in both cases as the office - it shows the Konica exists and is available online at the Library but does not print to it, also shows the 8600 but no joy - so in Library I cannot print an excel file. With a pdf it doesn't know the Konica exists just shows the home printer and office printer
In library we have a fully working new BT wireless hub and both the Konica and HP8600 are wireless. If using word etc just not excel or pdf - all works fine
Help! its so awkward being in situation where i cant print either types at library or office
