I have an HP officejetpro 8000. It is a wireless but I am using a USB cable. After about 20 minutes of non use the printer shuts down and will not print. I have to pull the plug in order to restart and then wait about five minutes before it will print again. This happens EVERY time that the printer is idle for 20 minutes. This is ridiculous and time consuming. According to HP, IT IS AN ENERGY SAVING ISSUE. The printer does not allow you to adjust the shut down time. The only thing that has worked so far is to pull the plug and re-plug it in. It is not a surge protector issue as the unit is plugged directrly into the wall socket. All softwear is up to date. I cannot believe this is what they intended. Any ideas?
