This printer is relatively new in use. I had model C25280 and 5520. But was using model 5280 unitl 3 months ago when it had carriage jam problems and I then switched to using 5520. Now after about 3 months then 5520 has carriage problem.
Now the 5520 makes a rattling noise and carrige jam errors. I like this printer and want to repair it
Does anybody in this forum mknow what the fix for this kind of problem. HP is not helping matters. I would love to repair it and not buy a new one.

My printer keeps telling to align the printheads. After doing so, it keeps saying alignment failed. A print quality diagnostics page shows perfect alignment (Test Pattern 1). How do I stop my printer from telling me to align the printheads?
When I try to print a word document the print preview shows that it is in color but the resulting printout comes out black & white. If I print a test page or print alignment page, those come out in color with no issue. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the driver but that didn't fix anything. Tried doing the clean cartridge function in the printer and that didn't do anything either. There doesn't seem to be any setting in printer properties or print preferences to switch between color or black & white printing. Is there an alternate driver that would work with this printer that would have this setting or is there someone with the same issue here that found a solution? Thanks in advance.

after making a testprint printer is pulling next paper forward and says paperjam
Removing paper and push OK next paper is pulled forwards and says paperjam, but there is no real jam, it´s just that the next paper is pulled forward and so it continues.

My printer has never done this. In fact i used it before changing old cartridge and it was fine. After I changed the cartridge I kept getting the message Printer failure. Asked me to turn it off which I did and got the same message. It said "if the problem continues Contact HP support" I have an IMAC , IOS 10.11.6 Its an all in one printer. Thinking that it was a defective cartridge (its warranty had expired in Nov. 2018) and after talking to HP support over the phone, I went out and bought another cartridge and installed the newer one with a warranty thta expires in nov. 2020 and yet I GET THE SAME MESSAGE " PRINTER FAILURE, etc etc
I have recently uninstalled and reinstalled the printer software (and restarted PC), but getting nowhere yet.
My mother pointed out it had not been printing in colour for some time, and I can see no reason why not. I have been through just about every menu possible from Devices and Printers, and the cartridges are genuine.
I have tried Windows Update, just about everything I can think of. Annoyingly though, despite specifically stating I wanted Full version, in Apps I can only see Basic Device Software (40.11.1122.1796),

What is the difference between HP 88XL High Yield Magenta Original Ink Cartridge (C9392AN) and HP 88 Magenta and Cyan Original Printhead (C9382A)?
I understand the first product is only Magenta and he second is Magenta and Cyan - what I am interested to know, does the second product include something (i.e. Printhead) in addition to the Ink Cartridge and what exactly is the Printhead.
Also, I'd like to know if there is instructions for replacing the Printhead?
I HAVE TRY HP ASSISTANT AND NOTHING WORK, HP JUST KEEP EXTRACTING FILES AND I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.

Installed new HP black ink cartridge and error comes up saying to make sure it's installed correctly. The window on the printer shows that it is an empty cartridge even though it is brand new.

Just changed the cartridges and the black is not printing. Went back to the store and got another box of genuine Hp cartridges and the black is still not printing. In looking at the archive this seems to be a problem. I tried every suggestion that was mentioned to no avail. Does this mean I just wasted over $90? I am major frustrated!!!!
Each day when I try to print I have to reboot my laptop and my printer. Will print fine until I shut down then the same thing happens the next time I need to print. No errot message. Scans fine all the time.
I installed a new black ink cartridge from Instant Ink but I received a message stating that the cartridge is not compatible with my printer. I used the same 61 that I have always used. I don't know what to do? Can someone help?
Just don't know how to install the ink. Does it go under the glass? How do you raise the glass?
