HP Photosmart e-All-in-One Printer - D110a (cartridge problem)

I just recently start getting an error message 'At least one of the Cartridges has a problem'. I believe the problem is the color ink. My printer wont start a print job when both color and black cartridges are installed. When I have only the black ink cartridge it continues to show a message 'Print Cartridge(s) missing or not detected' and it goes into single-ink cartridge mode and starts printing.
I have tried cleaning and changing cartridges. I also tried restarting the printer and it still goes directly to the error message (with both cartridges installed). Even then, I can't access my printer's home display. What do I do?
