I purchased this printer (which comes with paper Trays 1 and 2), and I also purchased the optional 500-page paper Tray 3.
Right now, when paper Tray 1 (the manual feeder tray) is open the printer defaults to Tray 1. If Tray 1 is closed (or open but empty) the printer defaults to Tray 3.
I want to be able to keep a stack of company checks in Tray 2 (where they will reside at all times), and anytime I want to print a check I want to be able to select Tray 2 and it will print a check.
The way I expect to accomplish this is to set the document properties for Paper Source on Printer Auto Select where it will always default to Tray 3 to print. This will handle all my normal printing on plain white printer paper. Whenever I need to print a check, I will change the Paper Source setting to Tray 2, and will then have to reset it to Printer Auto Select when I finish printing checks.
Does anyone know of a better way to accomplish this, and will I need to change any settings for Tray 2 because the check pages are a bit thicker than the plain white printer paper?
