Hi,
My father's HP Officejet J4580 All-in-One printer has suddenly started producing distorted photocopies. I'll copy a document and the top of it will be compressed, with double-images of some lines. (For example, when I copied the image alignment sheet, the numerals 1 and 2 came out as double-images, as if one were seeing them with doubled vision -- with one 2 superimposed on top of the other). This only happens when I make a photocopy; if I scan the same document, the scanned file is fine, and I can print a document without a problem. I've realigned the ink cartridges , but I still have the same problem. The printer is out of warranty, so I can't use telephone support. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this or what the solution might be?
