I have an HP desktop (HP Pavilion p6680t), HP laptop (HP Pavilion dv6t), and Acer Inspire 722 series netbook all connected wirelessly to one Office Jet J6450 All-in-One. All three computers are running Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium. If I update any or all three from IE8 to IE9 or IE10, I am unable to print in black/white despite having selected this option in the printing preferences pop-up as I have always been able to do when running IE8. Over 90% of my printing is done in black/white, whether from random websites or e-mail, as I refuse to waste the precious color cartridge ink on such documents. I repeat that the Office Jet will print in black and white as long as the computers are running IE8/IE8. I am encountering increasing difficulties by staying with IE8, save for printing, so I would like to upgrade to IE9 or IE10, but not/not at the expense of burning through color cartridges. I am happy with my printer and see no reason to have to choose between being able to print in black and white or upgrading to a newer version of IE. A search of both HP and MS fora has proven fruitless thus far. Please advise.
