Please, help me make sense of this madness! lol
I have an Officejet 4500 Wireless series printer that was previously stored in-box until I was able to set up my study space. (It was used when I first purchased it, and worked perfectly fine as far as I know). Upon attempting to print Word documents or PDFs (from two different programs - Word 2013 and Nuance PDF Reader), the printer will leave half of the page blank.
However, it doesn't just print the top or bottom half and then not finish it. The printer will leave out headings, print a paragraph, and then shoot out the rest of the page blankly and continue for the remaining 17 pages of an essay until the last page when it decides to print references.
Or, when printing a table of data imported from Excel 2013, it will leave out the headings and just print out every other line of data. Sometimes it will print out every line of data (save for the headings) and will leave one specific cell blank from the table. Or, if printing a graph, the bar graphs will print, but none of the text will.
The issue does not seem to favour colour ink over black because I just recently attempted to print off something in colour, and key elements were left out, which is also what happens when I print in straight black and white.
Does anyone have any ideas? I'm driving myself nuts trying to figure this out, and since the printer has been barely used despite being purchased a little over a year ago, this is seeming to be a giant waste of money.
Printer: Officejet 4500 Wireless
Running: Windows 7 64 Bit
Troubleshooting:
- tried to reinstall the drivers.
- uninstalled and reinstalled the printer using the online guide from HP
- checked the ink levels - black is 1/3 full, colour is 1/2 full
- aligned and cleaned the printer heads (but as I don't have a comparison test sheet, I'm not 100% if it was successful)
- attempted to print through both USB connection and wireless with the same result
- I've also ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor and it advised that my printer is perfectly fine. (Tell that to the tree I've wasted trying to troubleshoot this mess. lol)
If anyone has any additional ideas, please let me know! Thanks so much in advance!
