I have been printing on my 8500 for 3 years when suddenly my computer would not recognize my printer. I tried printing offline and it worked fine. Therefore knew the printer was okay. I called a computer techician who went into the computer and uninstalled and re-installed the printer and received a reply would not download due to Windows Vista. Not wanting to pay for Windows 7 also I called HP and asked if something changed that would cause the printer not to work on my Windows Vista. He checked the Printer, overroad the Vista signal and then it would not recognize the USB plug that connected to the computer from the printer. I was quite angry and called the computer tech back . Quite irate I told him the person I was on the phone with for 3 hours did not help me and I would not ever call them again and wanted a refund. He requested I let him try and he would call me back in 30 minutes. Soon I heard the printer operating smoothly. When he csalled he informed me the Google Chrome was preventing me from printing. It would print okay on Firefox and IE. Tried it and it was fine. 2 weeks of frustration and costs with such a simple remedy.
