We have a HP Officejet Pro K5400 and last week a problem occurred. The printer says there is a paper jam, as the power button and the feed button are flashing. However, we doubled checked everything and there is no paper jam visible. We also tried to turn it off and then back on, but it doesn't clear the alarm. We also unplugged it completely (power and computer cord) for a few minutes, but it did not reset. Both lights are still flashing as soon as the printer is turned on, and nothing can be printed (not even the print test page) and paper is not even picked up.
What else can we do to clear the 'phantom' alarm? It seems like the printer is bugged in that position.
I called HP technical support, but I was told they would not help us out, that I should try this forum instead.
