I have a HP Officejet 4620 e All in One printer, which was successfully installed recently. All wireless connections etc excellent and no problems until now.
The problem we found occurred after not using the printer for a while and it's in standby. when you try printing, it comes back with an error message basically saying that the printer isn't on the network, couldn't be found and document failed to print.
When I open the printer control panel on the laptop, all connections show as ok, all status in green. Likewise on the printer panel itself, all connections good and status fine.
I downloaded the HP Troubleshooting tool, ran it and again shows all connections good and can't detect any problems.
I'm running Windows XP, three Apple devices and an Android.
The problem only occurs with the Windows laptop, all other devices fine for e-printing etc.
To resolve the problem, I have to switch the printer off and on again - normal service resumed, until I don't use it for a while, then same problem again. I'm not a computer expert but in laymans terms it's almost as if it disconnects from the laptop when in standby and wont print again, even though the printer seems to comunicate with the computer control panel fine.
It's a real pain and any guidance much appreciated.
