Hi All,
We experience a problem with a crashing driver for a HP Designjet 800 plotter/printer. Unfortunately, googling the issue has not helped either.
Environment:
One citrix server running XenApp 6.0 Fundamentals on a 2008 R2 environment (64 bit) and a seperate printer server running on Windows 2012. The HP Designjet 800 printer is on the list "supported HP printers in Citrix environments" with HP GL2 driver version 5.35 and 6.11.
Users log on (through Web interface) to a published desktop. Network printers are added from a list of printers installed on the print server. No printers are installed locally on the Citrix servers.
We have several HP printers, with most using the HP UPD, some Toshiba and some Dymo labelwriter printers. The HP DesignJet printer was initially installed using the from HP website downloaded driver version 7.10.
Problem:
Users log on to the Citrix server and initially the HP Designjet 800 printer is properly installed. The next day users log on and lose the printer ( sometimes a few days later the user lose the printer). Other printers are properly installed and accessable through Devices and Printers. For some reason the Hp Designjet 800 printer is not being auto-created when they log on.
The error can be troubleshooted by restarting the printspooler on the Citrix server and installing the printer again on the Citrix server. The problem is solved then for a little while.
Tried to solve the problem thusfar by installing the HP UPD. When installing the HP UPD the driver is stable and users don't lose their printer. However, the UPD does not support papersizes larger than A3 so this is not a suitable solution.
Does anyone have the same experience and /or found a solution for this?
Kind regards,
S.C.
